Song Below The Keeper

.
.
The low alto
Weeping song
Dissonant
Self harmony
From a voice
Worn smooth
Pouring
Life river
Grief torrents
Wailing rush
Eddy into
Keeper spiral
Deep green
Swimming alone
Singing
Below darkness
Resonant music
Soft rumbles
Swim dancing
Light flickers
Night falls
Softening
Moments between
Memory stones
Laughing trees
Swallow
Pure water
River roots
Cradle
My body
Secure safe
Strong
I watch
Moonlight
Wash away
Wild storms
Watershed dreams
Great ocean
Calling
Flows over
And around
Deep in
Green darkness
Among
Tree Mother’s
Ancestral roots
I rest
Waiting
For nothing
Singing deeply
From the Heart

Moonlight Nap

.
I started
To sleep
Out
Under the moon;
All was comfy,
And I
Dozed off.
After a while,
The skeets said,
“Give it up.”
Enough comfy
Moon-gazing,
Enough
Moonlight nap.
Only prickly
Stings
With the moonlight,
Now.
I have a few
Photos
And many
Red bites.
I walked
Alone
In the moonlight.
T’was not dark
At all,
But the shadows
Were bright
And moving.
The dogs barked
At the shadow
Movement,
As much
As the scents,
But there
Were scents,
As well.
Animals,
And sweet
Flowers
That bloom
Only
In moonlight.
Lots of eyes
Reflected the flash …
There was
Company in the woods.
I was not
Really alone,
Not
At all.
We are never,
Really
Alone.
Ever.
Merely
Separate
From
Each other.
Help apart
By shifting
Deceitful
Illusions,
Chimeras lurking
In shifting
Shadows.
Truth dancing
In moonlight
Wishes.
The skeets
Say
with their
Screaming whines
“Give it up.”
Dreams
Were lost
Long ago.

Night In January

.
.
My home is a house
Amongst forest trees.
This night the trees
Are silent.
They do not creak,
Nor sigh.
The owls are quiet.
The horse is quiet.
The Guineas are
Not complaining.
No one speaks.
I hear the stars singing
Of their eternal journeys.
The brightening moon
Illuminates clouds,
Sand and water
In silvery blues.
The trees cast
Golden shadows.
All else is mystery.
Behind my eyes
Is night.
I whisper of
What I feel.
Your voice answers
Telling me of
Your wants that
Are needs.
Behind my eyes
Is night.
Behind my eyes
Sleeps black darkness.
Golden shadows
Outline my
Cold blue hands.
The trees
Remain silent.

Grandmother’s Light

.
.
Grandmother Moon rises
Smiling behind
My small mountain
I look away towards
Your flickering valley
Arms spread
My puny shadow grows
Becoming a forest
Concealing the game trail
In the far distance
The Tennessee River
Shines blue moonlight
I move forward
Towards the west
Blind feet stepping
Into mysteries chosen
Path revealed as
Grandmother arcs
Across the Virgo night
No longer dark

Sweet Moonlight Moonbow

.

Just before the rain, the colors and halos around the moon, visible through the hickory and water oak trees were beautiful in their exquisite moon-bow colors, for a very short while, before the cloud covered over and the moon drifted behind the trees.  The light still diffusely illuminating, but only with a misty gray.  The bight spot is the star visible for a few minutes last night..

Today it is cold, again.

Foggy October Moonlight

The bright October Moonlight is so bright it illuminates  the  foggy clouds creating shadows of the tree cover.

Through the trees lighted windows offer respite in the shadowed darkness.
