  2. Thanx for sharing Ravi Shankar’s sitar with us. His connection with George Harrison and the Beatles was what first got me interested in sitar music.

    • More and more indeed.
I think I ventured to this part and forgot to post my other comments. LOL yeah, it’s been a long weekend. I’m having issues with myself at the moment. LOL.
Haunting music from The Last Emperor.
I’ve seen some of the images in the Las Soldaderas in the book banned in AZ schools–500 Years of Chicano History in Pictures. Great seeing them here in film.
I’ve not seen The Patriot but this music makes it enticing. Is it a very good film, Bear?’
We’re getting around the world here indeed, aren’t we?
In more ways than one….India, China, Mexico, America, Russa—as the music pages turns….

      • The Patriot is a bit better than OK movie. But then, I like Mel Gibson. 🙂 Most of the music is not so great, but I knew there had to be something good in there somewhere, and I knew it wasn’t all fifes and snare rolls or minuets. 🙂
The Last Emperor IS a movie well done… I am like you in that not any old representative example of music will do. I have to also LIKE it. Blog space and audio listening space are at a premium. Zero is better than something I don’t want to listen to again, myself.
Thank you for including Burma, I mean Myanmar. and Tibet. I don’t think that tragedy can be undone. 😦 Too many of those in the world, ongoing 😦 so many we can’t even cover them all with all of us posting 😦 or even sort through all the dis-info.

The images in the Las Soldaderas are the same, or mostly the same, as in the video you posted.

I love those crazy Russians for their music!

        • Thanks Bear. LOL regarding The Patriot. I’ve seen The Last Emperor and agree that it is ‘well done’. As for Burma and Tibet–thumbs to the nose for the leaders of the Free World for their political behaviour which reveals the true nature of their parties and themselves.
I suspect the ‘crazy’ is partly responible for the great Russian music. 🙂

    • Did you recognize all of them? I was delighted to find (almost) all of the specific pieces of music I was looking for. The difficult part was NOT including more, and more, and more. This was the easiest theme so far. 🙂 Viva Viva Viva
