PICTURES AT AN EXHIBITION BY MUSSORGSKY
Rene Leibowitz conducts the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra in this fantastic performance of Pictures (Ravel Orchestration), from 1962.
This is from vinyl and there are some artifact sounds. It is difficult for digital recordings to capture the physical feeling of depth that the older recodings managed. However, even with a couple of scratches, this is my favorite recordings of Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition posted on You Tube by zmov1·
