Always I am waiting for the few times a year when it is The Beautiful Blue Hour. Human skin glows with it’s own blue light, and the air is so thickly blue that to move is more like swimming than making contact with ground. For a moment, time slows and stretches to become The Beautiful Blue Hour.

Aaaah, Beautiful Beautiful Rain. More light in the sky to the West. Or maybe it is just a thin spot in the clouds, as it is was still raining eight hours later.

The cloud cover was so thick at 4:00PM, especially facing East, that I needed the flash to make photos. It is the light from the flash that is reflected in the rain drops, and in the bottom photo, run off from the back porch roof.

Maybe these thick black clouds rained somewhere, perhaps out at sea, but they didn’t rain on me.

Or perhaps there was no rain at all, for I did not see a single drop fall.

There was a power outage today with a surge, just before. The surge rang all the land-line telephones, then all went dark, including my monitor. Oops. I was trying to download some pictures of the rain!

All was not lost, I retrieved my memory card and took more photos. When the power was back on, I found that the original small batch of photos was intact.
.
Usually both of our dogs hide under my bed when it rains, especially if there is lightening. But only if I am in the same room. If I am elsewhere, they try to hide under my feet. This does not work, because I stand on my feet. It also jiggles my camera. Even so, a few photos are not too bad.
