I am often asked how many treaties has the government made with the indigenous people of this land? It’s easier rather than attempt to enumerate the five hundred plus to respond the better question is how many has it kept?
The answer to that is none.
An additional question with all the incumbent environmental risks is is it worth it to construct a pipeline that will produce a mere handful of permanent jobs to refine and export oil to foreign markets?
That’s right – foreign markets, the clear implication being that if any makes it’s way into this country it will be purchased from those foreign markets.
