On the Way is the Daily Post Weekly Photo Challenge.
Rain clouds on the way home on SRA1A in North East Florida I drove through torrential rain that fell only on the highway. The rain fell so fast that it could not drain from the roadway and visibility was nil. I didn’t dare stop entirely because the water would have entered the tailpipe. But when I arrived at the sandy dirt road that’s closer to my home, it was still entirely dry. A little of that cloud burst would have been welcome to pack the sand.
Great picture. Clouds like that are a bit scary. — Suzanne J

With our aquifers in such trouble, I am happy to see them. 😉

I cannot believe the heavy rain you get there in Florida. We see nothing like it here in Colorado. I recall just running a short distance from car to building you are totally drenched. Amazing!

It is amazing. 1 to 9, or more, inches in an hour is not so rare. But there have been years of drought and fires, and the water table is still too low to be secure. We need more slow rains or even floods so that the water has a chance to soak in.
