We will never know, what if Eve had done as she was told? Would we be happy souls living in paradise? Or would human nature on all of it’s ugliness still of emerged? Is Eve’s original sin the reason why women are second class citizens? Wonderful post Bear so much food for tonight. xxxx

Perhaps… paradise is a choice, and not a lost and found scenario. Could paradise be evoked from within? after all, it’s just a vision from mind’s eye. I like your selections. 🙂

Paradise may be a construct of mind, and not necessarily physical. The creation myth served its purpose, evolving consciousness should transcend outdated myths which no longer serve us. What’s the point of blame? Chastising half the population serves no purpose, other than furthering “Satan’s” intended design. Evil begets evil, a function of mind. Perhaps these parables point to rediscovering our inner heart, and using love to guide our external lives.

How would the story progress if Eve had kept her pact and shared awareness of good and evil with Satan? What influence would a creation story with Satan gaining self-awareness have had on history? On human relationships, on war, on love?

That’s a great hypothetical question. I’m not certain of the outcome, just as we are uncertain of the ultimate fate of humanity under patriarchal dominion (satan vs the sacred feminine argument). Could you elaborate about Eve’s pact with Satan? If i recall the story goes: Eve was tempted into tasting the forbidden fruit from the tree of knowledge. To depart from unity consciousness which is the singularity of Eden, Adam & Eve must experience the “hardships” of polarity (separate or individuated consciousness) as life on Earth.
If Satan is just an aspect of GOD, then gaining self awareness should clarify the illusory nature of our collective reality. It is only a means of evolving consciousness itself, so everything we’ve experienced up to this point is necessary and serves a greater purpose. Human relationships, war, love are simply peripheral manifestation of the individuated being- a drop of water with the ocean so to speak. Creation is a convenient story, the whole of reality is beyond our imagination.
I can only live my life as consciously awake as humanly possible, perhaps a contribution of my “probable” experience to the collective whole is in some way necessary. So what’s u’r take on this epic neverending story? 🙂

Eve agreed to share the “Forbidden Fruit/Knowledge” with Satan, but she didn’t do it. She shared with Adam.
There are other similar precedent myths from that part of the world. However, as are all teaching stories, they are interpretations and re-tellings and adaptions used to reinforce particular attitudes or behaviors. How much more pleasant our history might be if a different message had been reinforced. Of course, that is merely speculation on my part. ❤

Perhaps that was Satan’s plan after all? Satan/ Lucifer, also known as “lightbearer” in its literal sense means he who bears the light. It is synonymous with a person who searches for knowledge and enlightenment and who in so doing seeks to bring it to mankind.
“Lightbearer” has its first religious root in the Hebrew phrase “Heylel ben Shachar” in passage 14:12 of the Book of Isaiah in the Old Testament, meaning “son of the morning star”.
“Satnam” and “Sa Ta Na Ma” are sacred mantras used in kundalini (serpent) meditation. The five primal sounds in Ancient Sanskrit, one of the oldest known languages are “SA-TA-NA-MA.” “Sa” means infinity; Ta means life; Na means death; and Ma means rebirth. All variations of the name “SATAN” mean TRUTH in Sanskrit, which is one of the world’s oldest and most ancient of languages.
It also depends on one’s interpretation of ancient mythology, and if u’r worldview have been shaped by traditional Judeo-Christian indoctrination. Different messages have been introduced to the masses, by pagans and indigenous cultures which focused on the sacred feminine and living in harmony with mother Gaia and father Sun. Sadly those traditions have been suppressed/ persecuted by the patriarchal led Christian church. Oh well. 🙂

Not all patriarchal and/or repressive religions/ideologies are Christian. Not all of Christianity suppresses and persecutes. Yet most of the world’s seven plus billion people have had their “world view” touched directly or indirectly by interpretations and reactions to Judea-Christian influence. Fortunately much that has been wrong with religion(s) could be taught as history, rather than current practices. Not all of (many and various) Christian religion(s) is bad, nor is all of it helpful. Still, there are those working to to keep the best aspects of their cultures and to allow the worst to fall away into the background.

Sorry i didn’t mean to imply that judeo-christian religion was the root of all evil. Just using it as an example of what can go wrong when an ideological movement or religion became usurped by less than noble leaders with ulterior motives and political agendas like the Vatican. Of course the Christian church has helped millions thru charity and support, like Mother Teresa.
My point being, everyone must find and live their own truth, and not be blinded by “faith” or dogmatic conditioning.
I’m all for multiculturalism and freedom of religion, by all means root out the bad aspects of any organization and celebrate life. Thanks for providing this platform for further discussion. ♥
