Difficult Dawn

.
.
Just before
Dawning sun
Arrives
Exhaustion
Too weary
To rest
Too late
For sleep
Something
Akin to
Hunger calls
My skin
To carry
The weight
Of my flesh
Quivering
Into day
Reluctance
Makes more
Effort
Required
Trembling
I watch
Dripping trees
Gain color
While busy
Birds call
Greetings
Singing
With their
Tasks I am
Burdened
With fear
Least I
Falter
My body
Unreliable
Does shame
Or love
Compel
Strength
Does my own
Pain matter
When there
Is work
To be done
Every moment
I must
Evaluate
How to
Do what
Needs doing
Without
Endangering
Others
What can be
Omitted
Easier to
Be alone

Selfishly
I pray
For myself
Please help
Me be cheerful
Today belongs
To my small
Granddaughter

The trees
The birds
Voice an answer
I am grateful

    • Dear People of Good Heart (first off, I found your kind and generous reply in the spam folder and un-spammed it)

Dunno if you read the replies, but in case you missed this:

I omitted the part were the universe called me on the “I am grateful”. As I was scanning the trees and trying to imitate bird calls and (practicing) smiling,THINKING ABOUT HOW NOBLE I WAS, I stepped right in a pile of dog poop that had been rained on. I was wearing my rubber clogs with holes in them.

Creator never misses an opportunity to call “Bull shit” — or maybe “Dog poop” when I start to feel sorry for myself or if I congratulate myself for being strong and “noble”. I was thinking of the words I would write, and not paying attention, letting the resentment and bad attitude cloud my sight. I stepped right in it. 😀 Hahahaha Now my grin is real.

I thank you for so very much. And now my tears are real, as well.

    • Jeff, thank you for your message of good will. The day did go well (disregarding all the … er, issues) I appreciate (for real) you kindness. Thank you for taking the time.

May all that you emanate outward be reflected back three fold. Da! Da! Da!
