In the Spirit of Maddie’s Christmas theme I am making efforts to suppress my Scroogish nature. Energy has become my dearest coin, and I have become miserly in it’s expenditure. So:
My finite energy is being redirected. I am posting this now, December 22, and will mostly be away from the computer until sometime after Christmas.

Music can be a means to guide attention, communicate with or without words and a means to transcend and sometimes escape, also a guiding path to follow back to home, to center.

      I have very limited energy, and several varieties of chronic pain, which also consume energy. I only expend the excruciating effort (and the toll exacted after) for what has to be done, and sometimes not that. I am definitely Scroogish with MYSELF.

      And yes, I am Scroogish with myself, even with music. My husband has a different repertoire of his one preferred genre (a few early to mid nineteen sixties Country-Western, and his RFD channel on TV – I have not watched TV, at all, in 9 years) music + idiot box noise, that I can tolerate only in small doses, but which fill the air most of the time, so I have to stingily listen to other music, or even play music myself, in private, in my little corner room which is pretty much sound proofed with my books, and is as far away from his intolerant ears as it is physically possible to get, under the same roof. I bought him some really good speakers for his computer, and he receive email version of Bearspawprint, but not once, has he listened to any music, except within the acceptable range. He does have some high frequency deafness, so that a lot of what I think of as music, but is unfamiliar to him, probably just sounds like noise. He can hear just enough of the songs he is familiar with (He ought to have every nuance memorized and be able to reproduce every spec of it, himself, by now!!) that his mind can fill in the parts he doesn’t hear. People’s minds do do that (most irritatingly) with conversation they don’t hear all of, as well. If he didn’t listen to (whatever) a lot, BEFORE we even met, he refuses to have it within his hearing range, at all. However, just because I understand, doesn’t mean I like it. Bah!! Humbug!! 😀 Double Bah!! Humbug!!
