For me, for this little haiku, first came the photo, then the idea. Most of my (documented) ancestors where not Quakers … they were … other … bunches of different other 🙂 Perhaps each individual ancestor, in each generation, had their own generational outlook and practices.
“Dwelling in the Light” is a Quaker phrase.
The play of light and dark is a fertile area for poetry.
