Hi beautiful Bear, Christmas week consumerism… so let’s go with Theme: Possessions & the Possessed. Happy hibernation & lively libations!

Thursday is Christmas Day. Interesting subject matter, “God bless us, everyone” Ho ho ho 😀

Yes, let’s focus on the original intent: the symbolism of “Christmas” is the gift of Christ love. give and receive from our hearts, not only the wallet. God has already blessed, the rest is up to us. 🙂

Possessions and the Possessed might have a pretty broad appeal, or do you want to narrow that to Christian Symbolism at Christmas, which also has its own appeal? The title subject matter is up to you, but how anyone else interprets it, on their own blog, or if they (we) even participate at all, is each individual’s choice. N’est ce non? Brightest Blessings, Magical Maddie

Like you always say, the fun is seeing how everyone interprets the theme in their own way. I wouldn’t narrow it, let the possibilities manifest…
I appreciate your guiding input Bear, blessings.♥

Strange, the comments page keeps going blank, even reloaded. ?? I cannot “like” you comments either, that icon is usually not available with your replies or comments. Odd. But like like like… almost all of what you say, that is what YOU say. Like.
Have you made a comment to all of the (known) participants? I’ll add this to the theme and update, but most likely no one will see it, if they already read the that blog post. So each individual needs to be told.

As usual, WP is working out their “issues” with comments. They changed notifications and comments page doesn’t refresh in a timely manner. I couldn’t like as well the other day, but it seems to work now. Thanks for all your *likes* 🙂
Yes, I’ve already notified everyone in our circle about the Christmas theme. I’ll include Eva and Willow in case they want to participate. Cheerful evening to ya!

Very nice gravatar photo. Gorgeous.
Favorite song or performer(s)? Probably depends on my mood 🙂 Or maybe if the sun is out, or fatigue levels. I borrow energy from music. Also I can’t make more that this many clips load. I like many more, most probably I haven’t heard my favorite yet. But did you mean Christmas, Yule, Winter Solstice, Winter itself, Seasonal … or from just the clips in the post? Which do you like?
It’s good to hear from you Charlotte. I apologize for not visiting you blog recently. I have wondered what you were doing with your own incredible voice, in this season. It is my own fault for not finding out.
Which of your own performances do YOU like? If you leave some links, I’ll put them in the body of the post, if you like. Of course, if you prefer I not, I won’t.
I hope you have a Merry Merry Christmas with lots of wonderful music filling the air.

This is one of my favorite seasonal recordings, sung by a Canadian high school choir. I love it.

I came back to listen on the Winter Solstice to see how the mood took me today and although I quite like Viima Cold Wind i liked the Solstice Song the best, i also loved your Mohalepte picture.
No need to apologise for blog visits i know how difficult it is to remember everyone and find time ☺️. I managed to release a cd to try to get some savings for my ongoing education, my favourite song is Rusalkas Song to the Moon. I’ll get you a link in a moment. Thanks for your seasonal message i hope you have a lovely Christmas too.
Best wishes
Charlotte

I’ll listen to more of her work, and read more background, but not at this exact moment … gotta go see BackSeatPhotography and WalkerPhotos, ages 4 and 7, respectively 😀

I’m sitting at dinner now. It’s a Chinese hotpot for ten so it’s all action. Here’s my favourite Mongolian song. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2AvR7X1DG78&list=PL1dw2pwKgTADjZ-YTxhJXhrfykojjAvA-

What will you say when someone asks you what you are playing with, just out of sight, on your side of the table?
I caught my adult nephew doing the same … me being so much I older, I pretended that I didn’t know what he was doing … He charmingly blushed. His visiting sweetie was grateful for a butt-inski Crazy Swamp Lady Auntie..

These days everyone checks their phone every 5 minutes. Rude though it is. And with a hotpot everyone is so busy fishing stuff out and lobbing stuff in..,

..sound dangerous.
I asked my hapless nephew what he was playing with in his lap, and could I I see, and waggled my eyebrows up and down. 😀 Hahahaha Even he laughed ,…. and put it aside.
Oops. I meant to wake up Skadi for the Solstice music themes.

Her flowing style sounds like it could be influenced by traditional duduk songs. Is she from Armenia?

Oh yes! I am the first to click the thumbs up on YT….. Is she someone you know, that you knew of this brand-new clip? She has quite a few interesting videos to peruse.
This is SO beautiful. I think. I am so blessed to not have any frequency deafness problems (yet – knock on wood). What gorgeous tones … makes me want to go for a swim in deep water … 😀
Thank you so much. I am placing the clip here (I hope) so that others might give her a listen.

No just music I stumbled upon in my wanders through world music. There are some moon-themed tunes there too. I have eclectic music tastes to say the least. I’ll link one of my favourites that’s not entirely dissimilar in ‘style’, equally haunting and also liked by a friend who sinhs for the Nanjing Opera, who, by chance, i am meeting in 30 minutes, and I’m late! I listened to all your tracks and will go back for a better look. This is not in line with your theme but since you liked Sainkho you might just like this. To my ears it’s haunting and beautiful: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2AvR7X1DG78&list=PL1dw2pwKgTADjZ-YTxhJXhrfykojjAvA-

Very nice selection Bear, well done! big thumbs up for Sainkho, sounds incredible… such deep yearning. There are elements of Asian opera, chanting, throat singing, melodious yet haunting. Clicked on additional tracks from Naked Spirit, very impressed, closed eyes and rode the wave.♥
