If ever sarcastic, then only in reply to a vis-à-vis having started first. 🙂 Though being sarcastic is not really beneficial for one’s own soul, I dare say …
Well, of course you are right and, as we all know, light and dark depend on each other.
Man’s nature has been ingrained with longing to follow sin, however also been gifted with the appropriate antidote, i.e. the love of the Creator. Thus, I would exchange your note that darkness defines the starts, but that the opposite is true, i.e. without light we would not recognise darkness at all.
Whereas the same applies to mankind as well. It is the light which defines, and not the other way round.
You may become darkness as often as you deem it fit, and of course there are valuable lessons to be learned from darkness as well, but my humbleself would always try to represent the absence of light as a lesser cause and not as an originator.
And being that wise-ass-know-it-all-busy-body or that swamp-residing likable eccentric mature lady hermit as your most probably rightfully are, I doubt you wouldn’t prefer to remain that very steadfast lamp others feel themselves allured to. 🙂
