Lisa chose the music theme for this week: Smile Smile Smile
Johnny has chosen THE MIND for out theme next week.

This last week has been rather like the Road Runner in this cartoon. Filled with near misses, and surrounded by poor old Coyotes who seem to never give up. So “BEEP BEEP” to you, you old coyotes!!!

One of the first things I thought of when Lisa said the theme “Smile smile smile” is …. old toothpaste commercials. Here is one from before I was born. Advertisers still use jingles that play on viewer’s insecurities ……………….

U’r selections did put a smile on my face, however…
Bob Marley most certainly did not sing “Don’t worry be happy”!
Marley died in ’81, Bobby McFerrin wrote/ sang the song in 1988.
It’s one of those urban legends…

Right you are. I thought Bobby MacFerrin wrote it sooner, and Bob Marley also sang it. I was out of the country and also, for several of those years did not have popular radio access (excuses, excuses) Thank you for the correction. I shall update that.

This is great fun, Bear! But I’m going to have to figure out why I had to find this through Johnny’s post. For some reason, I’m not getting notifications about your posts anymore. Crazy me thought you just hadn’t posted in a while. I probably have some catching up to do. 🙂

You have so much on your plate (hahaha) that you probably have been quite busy. However, I did not post much this last week. It has been, uhm, a difficult week. But things should be looking up now, if Coyote would just get off of the road crew near me. Three 🙂 🙂 🙂

That darn Coyote! But I have confidence in Road Runner to see us through. 🙂
I posted last week and was doing well, then the roughness caught up to me too. Trying to come back AGAIN! 🙂

Uh oh. I hope and pray you, and your husband, are able to recover your equilibrium enough to get through these long months ahead of loose ends tying up and finishing projects before you can feel comfortable going (Home?). …. with relative ease.

There is hope and possibility. We’ve had some really tough legal issues to sort through. I think we have a reasonable escape plan now, so one foot in front of the other. My husband suspects that my current “dilemma” is that now that the big push is over, I just need time to recover. That added to the fact that this would normally be the week I would be settling in to Michigan for my summer break. Not that I didn’t have to work the other summers, but at least I could renew my connections with family and friends in the US. This summer, I’m in Taiwan for the duration. I just have to adapt, adjust, and move forward. I can do it, said the Little Red Hen. 🙂
The proof will be if I get back to my blog. A quilting project is close enough that I can almost taste it, so there is some hope.

This made me smile.
I have to say, that I have been a coyote sympathizer since I can remember. I watched every Saturday as the writers let him not only lose, but sustain massive injuries in the process. I wish they would have made just one episode in which he caught that infernal roadrunner. It just isn’t a good message to send kids. 😉

Ha! Beep Beep you Coyote sympathizer!! Coyotes have been driving cars, providing medical services, running the south Eastern US communications, and filling lots of other areas (road maintenance, logistics) which would be better served by People and Road Runners. The foolish Coyote could not even eat the bird with the methods he is using try to destroy the Road Runner. Humph! three 🙂 🙂 🙂

P.S. I never liked the Three Stooges either. Though my brothers, and sons, also Coyote Sympatizers, liked them 🙂 🙂 🙂

So we agree that though we are on opposing sides, we can still be friends, right?

I saw an Acme sawhorse and some (well they looked like people) men with Acme vests, setting stantions up …. in traffic, on the on-ramp to I95 during “rush hour”, for no reason that anyone could see, no warning signs, no equipment …. I did start laughing when I saw the word Acme … the stantions (those orange rubbery cone looking things) seemed to guide traffic off to the side of the road. Hahahaha Yup. that was Coyote work. Three 🙂 🙂 🙂

This is great. Really. Yours is the best. I actually am smiling, smiling, smiling. I know almost all of thsee songs even before listening to them. We’re watching them now. I especially can’t wait to see Johnny’s comment. 🙂

Did Johnny avoid them, out of kindness, because they are so obvious?

No! He has complained about the road runner and the coyote since I’ve known him for twenty years. It obviously really bothered him. LOL
He also has so much on his mind lately. I don’t know how he is carrying everything he’s carrying. That’s why my focus is mostly on him. Three 🙂 🙂 🙂

I think it bothers all Coyote Sympathizers that Coyote is represented as such an idiot. Trickster Coyote is really quite clever. There is even Coyote Medicine. But not cartoon coyote medicine. Three 🙂 🙂 🙂
