Oops. That title sounds like dish-washing detergent. Hahaha….

I danced sunlight into
The windowless kitchen
Our baby on my hip
Laughing as I whirled
Between the stove and table
My broken feet ignored
.
Sunlit rainbows and leaves the
Philodendron and sweet potato
A forest of hearts trailing
Shelves and cupboards you
Carried tomorrow in a box
Away for generously sharing
.
You ate from the center
Consuming my heart my food
For the baby the older children
I cooked more danced more sang
While starving I told stories
Nourished by laughter and smiles
.
I danced sunlight into
The windowless kitchen
Our baby on my hip
Laughing as I whirled
Between the stove and table
My broken feet ignored

I love this one, I remember similar moments, whirling in my kitchen, a baby on my hip, an older one banging on pots. Lovely journey to the past.
