Bear, I love Jerry Garcia but Roscoe has stolen the show here. If I could sing like him… I wonder if his albums are available in digital format. He makes me want to hole up in the studio and wail. 🙂
Once again I have heard things that I most likely would have never heard. Great post, Bear!

Just throw your voice through your nose while you hold it shut and you’ll get that High Lonesome 🙂 🙂 🙂

So that’s how he does it. I’ll let you know if I figure it out. 😉

I’ve spent 45 years listening to him, and many imitators trying to sound like him, Part of it is to put your voice in the roof of your mouth with a lot of tension in through the back part of the tongue and throat and cheeks, but the lips help softer lips so that you still get volume, even with that tightness in the back part of the mouth.

I almost used these boots are made for walking! I’ve got my videos lined up and ready to go. I just have to get some coffee in me first. You’re grandson is so cute! I can’t wait to listen.

You can use Nancy Sinatra if you like. If you don’t want both of us to do so, I’ll take it off. I almost DIDN’T use it. 🙂

I already put them up. Johnny almost used it too. I thought it was kind of neat that we all had a song in common.
