Starlight Warmth

.
.
There has come to be a time,
When I can choose, to make yesterday
A time when I felt no pain,
A time when I was never young.
.
Young could become a fantasy,
Of youth, fleeting
For a moment of joy, or
Agony, that is no longer.
.
To let it all go,
The good goes with the bad,
There is nothing left
Of the inextricably entwined.
.
But I shall sky dance in the ocean,
Breathing in darkness and starlight,
And I shall sweat heavy tears of despair
In the eternal sun-hot misery now.
.
I choose to keep it all,
The wild joys and freedom of youth,
The bitter yellow betrayals,
The glories of life and love.
.
I want to swim in all of remembrance,
Before forgetfulness takes me away.
Darkness is mystery and the yet to be,
Starlight includes the all.
.
I am my own sun-hot frozen despair.
I am the starlight warmth of hope.
I am all of my own deaths and lives.
We are all that was and will be.

“A time when I was never young. Young could become a fantasy” So true Bear, oh so true this young place. 🙂

    • That anyone survives that young place is amazing 🙂

What did you and Mari decide? I would love to collaborate, but I have heard nothing more than your hints. Perhaps you just like to borrow ideas? Perhaps you have moved on to something else?????? Regardless, I am pleased my poems awakened thoughts and discussion.

        Hello dear 🙂

She has your email address and she follows and loves your blog. She has been busy touring and I am not sure what will become of it all. Only time will tell. I can perhaps send word now and then? What do you say? 🙂

        • Thank you for this thoughtful reply. Touring cannot help but be exhausting … exhilarating, but exhausting … and it must seem like the entire world is clamoring “Me Me Look At Me Listen To Me!!!” Thousands of little kids jumping up and down.

Will I see your name beside the lyrics on any albums? Or a nom de plume? I have looked on those I have…. but they are several years old. And perhaps I don’t know specifically what I am looking for. Connection? Insight?

Vi har hatt dager over 33 C. Snart vil det bli varmere.
Takk for alt du har gjort.

Lol. I am the same but getting better. 🙂 I have no idea what her next album will look like. Whether she will use anything of mine at all. We see.

Me, I do not appear on her past albums. I have only seriously started writing this year. I have been painting all this time. 🙂

It is wonderful to be able to work together and inspire one another. It is fun. That is all I know. I love the weather report. Lol

Hot hot der. Wowee. Here the sun is out until late late. Warm days. I love it.

Takk det samme. Enjoy the rest of your week Bear. 🙂

This is so full of feeling and imagery. What I love about it is that even though you use words, the images are so strong that I find myself unable to respond in words, only feelings. Awesome! 🙂

I thoroughly enjoyed this poem and do hope you’ve written a book of poetry because this belongs on a shelf. Amazing!

    • I went to your blog hunting for your name, and got caught up reading and reading 🙂 🙂

I had great fun 🙂 I am so glad you commented as I had lost your wonderful blog, and now it is found again.

If my poem were on a shelf, would it be shelved?

I am so glad that you, with your amazing insight likes my work. Thank you.
