Too Small?

Shall we undo yesterday and be
Forever waiting for remembrance?
What has happened to us?
Holding our courteous hands,
With caution and beware?
.
Have our hearts become too small?
.
When our yesterday becomes undone
There will be no more,
No more of us and we and them.
It is our history, falsely  remembered,
That is required for the familiar to  remain.
.
Have our hearts become too small?
.
Our hearts are becoming smaller
And harder and smaller and harder,
Chewed away by the wished for lost,
Memory consumed by current pain.
Is nothing left when yesterday is gone?
