In a landscape of mist and trees
Tannic red water, black mud and cypress knees,
It’s a sad weary journey through my mind,
Exchanging thought for the beauty I find.

I love that you last line. 🙂

Thank you. it is difficult for me, I feel possessive of my thoughts, I don’t like to let them go. 🙂
Can you breathe easily, yet? Is being upright still exhausting?

It is dreadfully slow. I can sleep on my sides now and walk all over the house.
I’m going to use that last line as a prompt. I quoted you and pinged you. Let me know if it is unacceptable.

What you have done is not quite what I think of as a using a”prompt”. But, perhaps, I am too careful of plagiarism in my own writing? I am honored to be a small source of inspiration.
I am glad that you finally have the strength to type a little so as to express some of the grace you allow to flow through you. I wish you well and a future of easy breathing and long life.

Thanks for teaching me and your kind words. I’m not a “writer” so I appreciate it. This is all new to me.

If you write you are a writer, professional or not. And you write., therefore you are a writer. 🙂

I think: Quote from: (name of poem or article, book, song, ) , by ( author/link) is correct. This is not the same as collaborative work.
A prompt, I believe, but I may be wrong, is a single word, general idea, subject area, or theme, like has been used for the “Music themes”.

That second line is so sticky and perfect, I had to read it over and over. I can smell the mud!

There are many interesting scents drifting this way and that. Sometimes it is difficult to find the source as being downwind doesn’t seem to work quite right. 🙂 Many of the river swamp flowers have wonderful perfumes, as do the trees themselves. And yes the mud has a scent that changes with the seasons and water levels.

The flowers would have to smell strongly to be found by insects in a swamp, wouldn’t they? 🙂
