In the place were my heart should be
There are fish with teeth biting me
They flip and flop and twist and turn
Squeezing thick blood with an acid hot burn
.
The pain I hide still makes me tired
The Vegas message seems lost or mired
Impulse wandering along the meandering road
With athletic tone disguising rhythm slowed
.
In response talking drums boom out
Quick time beats their message shout
Dancing whales and fish in a salt blood sea
Swimming the tide rolling inside of me
.
The transcending race helps to keeps the beat
Choreographed for my flying fast Mercury feet
Yet, in the place were my heart should be
There are fish with teeth and they are biting me

Oh yeah. Definitely enjoyed the Punch Brothers Not Your Average Bluegrass Band selection. 🙂 Not average at all. Nice pick, Mato.

Wow. WOW. I think I relate too well to those fish with teeth…not always, but lots of days. By the way, my “Bear” poem posts at midnight–and then we’ll see about the 2 Wolf ones. Bless you.

No, I don’t have medical heart trouble–just the other kind.

XXX They quite often feel very similar. I am sorry. XXX I look forward to reading your “Bear” and midnight (EST?) and your others, also. Thank you for the heads up.

I gather you have serious medical heart issues–I’m sorry and will keep you in my prayers, if that’s okay with you. I’m in PST, Wash State.

Heartache has actual physical symptoms that can mask a physical source of the same symptoms. Heart and vascular disorders are under diagnosed, especially in women. If you actually recognize the bodily sensations described you should ask your doctor to check you. Emotional heartache tends to be chronic, which has a bad effect on blood pressure, which has a bad cascading effect on the heart …. and everything else, too. Heartache also can trigger other cascading vascular/heart troubles …. and other physical problems.
I thank you for your prayers.
I also send you prayers on blue smoke, for strength and endurance to recognize, get through, and survive whatever seen or unseen obstacles obstruct your path. A Ho. Bear

Music and meditation help with all these ailments.
Great poem, Bear. Like Widow Beach, I can all too well relate to those fish with sharp teeth.
