An apology unspoken
Is not.
Words of apology spoken
In lieu of meaning
Are not.
False apologies
Are apology not.

Words spoken with no heart
Are yet spoken not.
Apologies With No Heart = False Apologies = Deceit

I’m sorry you feel that way.
I’m sorry that you have reacted that way.
Just let it go.
Let bygones be bygones.
I’m sorry that I can’t do anything right.
It’s too bad that you can’t get over this.
You are over reacting.
I don’t remember doing that.
I don’t remember saying that.
I want you to know that I am sorry.
What ever it is, I’m sorry.
You are making a mountain out of a molehill.
You are just being a drama queen.
I wasn’t aware that I was doing anything wrong.
This is not important.
This is not worth wasting time over.
I’m sorry that I can’t ever do anything to please you.
Let’s not dwell on this.
I wasn’t aware that I said that.
I’m sorry you ever met me.
I want you to believe that I am sorry.
I want you to understand that I am sorry.
I thought I did apologize.
I’m not going to apologize again.
That is all the apology you are going to get.
It’s not any use to even try.
I want you to believe that I did apologize.
I can’t undo what has been done, so just accept it.

Have any of those been tried on you?
Have you, yourself, pretended to apologize?

http://nackpets.wordpress.com/         I’m sorry I’m not as perfect as you are.
http://willowdot21.wordpress.com/      Sorry means nothing, it is easy to say …

I want you to trust me.
I want you to forgive me.
I want you to believe I deserve forgiveness.
Words are cheap.
I want you to accept this token.
Whatever you say.

    Bless you, Bear!

  2. wow bear I think you covered it all. All of it. I never apologize unless I am sorry. I used to apologize and say I’m sorry in my normal conversation. Which I always hated because it negated everything I really meant to say. Isn’t it odd how apologies are. Alex’s dad when I met him never apologized for one single thing and I think I’d rather be someone that new how to apologize then one that never did it and always thought they were right! I’m still waiting for his apology. I don’t it’s ever coming though! 🙂

    • Does he seem to feel he doesn’t need to apologize because you are so good hearted that your goodness will cover for his lack of courage and insight?

      • I think so much has happened that an apology he feels is to little to offer. But isn’t it a great start? I think an apology doesn’t come with excuses. His always do just once I’m love to hear I’m so sorry for hurting you! But it’s ok I’ve learned to live without them! 🙂 Hugs bear!

This is good, Bear. I was talking with a friend the other day and we decided to take “sorry” out of our vocabulary completely. I think a more meaningful response is to ask for forgiveness. That is what matters in any situation that would normally have one of these non-apologies attached.

Yes I’ve heard all the above, along with my all time favorite, that can really make my blood boil, especially when they say in a very snotty tone!!!!
I’m sorry I’m not as perfect as you

I do try to be sincere but sometimes it is hard, especially when I was still working some of the customers who came in to complain where horrid. ( I worked on a welcome desk, Customer Service.
I hate it when my husband says sorry means nothing it is easy to say. He of course he was right lactions speak louder than words. Xxx 😉

    • What a coincidence that you replied, just at this moment. 🙂 I was about to watch Latcho Drom on YouTube. I’ve listened to this song, from the movie, several times. 🙂 Since you shared your photos and relationship to Roma, whenever I encounter anything Roma, (music, movies, culture .. new or not) I think of you. The song itself doesn’t really remind of you, but the connection and your sympathy does. — Latcho Drom, La Caíta, “El pájaro negro” Tony Gatlif —- Can’t seem to make a link without the clip and it’s embedding disable message. If you would like to have a listen, copy/paste on YT. Sorry for the bother of my multiple messages, but tickled at your timing. 🙂
