They all say exactly what I mean, but can be read in such a way as to mean something else entirely, dependent upon who is reading and from what perspective. I’ve been letting a certain amount of anguish peek out and your soft heart has picked up on it. Thank you for the solace that you offer. I do appreciate it. XXXX
I am not so sure if there is a sort of fun time in old tradition to celebrate. Mother Day, Father Day, Valentines Day are among the celebration appeared after 1970.
In many older traditions often such things were mingled with Spring, planting, harvesting, growth and rebirth after lying fallow. The seasonal aspects of farming, animal husbandry and even fishing and animal and hunting migrations are closely tied to human seasons, as well. Often current holidays are composites of older mixed traditions in disguise. I am not an expert and have not researched all such celebrations. As for Valentine’s Day, it now seems to be mostly to help out China’s purse. 🙂
Hahaha! No, not Chinese. But many of the gee-gaws and silly trinkets and greeting cards and even the cheaper not-so-good candy is made and marketed by China. Yuck. 🙂
Well, in the beginning of 2000, there were so many and very very cheap compared to our domestic products, from toys-electronics to clothing materials but not now anymore.
I don’t know anyone who buys that stuff. It is on shop shelves, but I don’t know what happens to it. Maybe it is recycled into highway pavements. ??? or maybe insecticides. Hahahaha
http://pleisbilongtumi.wordpress.com/ is an blog with much of interest about Cigudeg, West Java – Indonesia. Lot’s of good photography including trees, plants, places of interest, scenery, and even some family and personal interesting bits. I have been absent from reading his blog since the beginning of this year … as I have been absent reading yours and other blogs of interest to me. 😦
I do appreciate so very much the stimulating comments you both make. Thank you. Who knew such interesting folk as yourselves, on the other side of the world, would ever read what I toss out into the alter-reality of cyber-space? I am constantly humbled. Thank you again.
Thank you, Deborah. Here, I love Bear’s poem very much and she often make my heart touched with her poetry/poem/ and maybe her own song lyrics. It’s inspiring me to comment with my own words, even unconnected. At least I have tried. 🙂 (muhammad)

Some people like horror stories? Wow, I’m trying to wrap my head around this one. I suspect though, that some people don’t mind being stuck.

Is there a day or some sort of fun time for “Sweethearts” to celebrate the idea of romance, in Indonesia? Perhaps an older tradition of some sort?
