What an awful sense of vindication I am experiencing at the moment. I am remembering the day in a college science class after learning about “half lives” and my asking the middle-aged easy going professor if I was understanding the concept and its implications for toxic chemicals correctly. He said I was. Then I raised the question of why anyone in their right minds would use nuclear energy for anything–including bombs. The small class of about 20 went nuts denigrating my point as “doomsday stupidity”–except for the professor. He just stood there looking at me like we were the only two sane people in the room. I knew then that my perception was right on target.
He was a great teacher.

Ignorance has a cure, even mistakes can often be solved, but Willful Stupid is a state of being. —–it is said that whenever a teacher is needed, one will be provided.—- what I don’t understand is why can’t the provided Great Teachers be taken advantage of? Why must the majority of us have to learn by negative experience. Duh. Double duh. —– Oh!! The sorrow of it.
